Technical Assistance & Capacity-Building Pilot

We're partnering with community organizations to do clean transportation outreach in hard-to-reach communities, while helping them access funding and other resources to support their growth.
East Oakland Collective
East Oakland Collective is working towards racial and economic equity in deep East Oakland through organizing, civic engagement, planning processes and community service.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is funding a technical assistance and capacity-building pilot project in response to feedback from various community members, leaders and representatives on the need to help California’s most impacted communities better access available clean transportation and mobility funding. The pilot provides local community-based organizations with technical assistance and capacity-building support focused on community outreach efforts and access to resources. It is being administered by GRID Alternatives through Access Clean California. Click here to download a full pilot overview.

Participants & Activities

Our six participating organizations are receiving capacity-building support that aligns with their needs and will help position them for future growth. For several of the participants, this includes fully funded fellows to work with their staff for the year. Staff and fellows receive training in clean mobility topics and California’s climate equity policies and programs. Each organization is piloting innovative outreach strategies in their communities with funding from Access Clean CA, adding to the outreach knowledge base for the broader network.
